How to pack when coming to Pacha Munay Wellness Resort
The weather in the Sacred Valley changes throughout the day — early morning and nights get pretty chilly but during the daytime when the sun is out it often gets nice and warm — so layers are the name of the game.
Daytime average temperatures are between 70 - 80ºF (20-22ºC)
Nighttime average temperatures are between 40 - 55ºF (4-13ºC)
There are two seasons in this part of the world: summer (November through April) and winter (May through October). Temperatures in the higher range during summer months, and in the lower range during winter months.
The difference between these seasons is only about 10º degrees Fahrenheit so don’t expect snow or extreme cold in the winter or a lot of heat in the summer. The weather here is temperate year-round.
Having said that, it’s a little colder and dryer in the winter, and a little warmer and rainier in the summer.
Here’s a list of what we recommend to bring with you:
Tee shirts
Long sleeve shirts
Sweater
Light waterproof jacket (Summer months) or
Raincoat (Summer months)
Shorts
Light down jacket (Winter months)
Beanie
Wide brim hat (The sun here is very intense due to high altitude, proper sun protection is essential)
Pants
Comfortable clothes for yoga and lounging
Hiking shoes
Swimming suit (for hot springs and sauna)
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Flip-Flops for outdoor shower/sauna
Reusable water bottle
Daypack
Power pack to re-charge your phone on longer day trips
A book to read during downtime
Voltage in Peru is 220V so make sure your power adaptors are rated for both 110V and 220V if you’re coming from a country that uses 110V (like the US). Most device's power adaptors are rated for both voltages but it’s still a good idea to make sure.
Worth mentioning is travel insurance. It’s always good to have travel insurance in case something unexpected happens. We recommend Safety Wing, you can get this insurance for just the dates you’re traveling.
